Safeguarding in Acton Parish
Acton Parish is fully committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all, especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We believe that every person has a right to be respected, valued, and protected from harm. Our parish follows the safeguarding policies and procedures set out by the Diocese to ensure that all our activities are conducted with care, transparency, and accountability.
Our Commitment
We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard those in our parish community. All clergy, staff, and volunteers who work with children or vulnerable adults are required to complete Garda vetting and safeguarding training. We promote a culture of awareness and vigilance, ensuring that everyone knows how to recognise and report concerns appropriately.
Our goal is to foster a parish environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and supported in faith.
Safeguarding Representatives
Acton Parish has appointed trained Safeguarding Representatives who assist in the implementation of diocesan policy at parish level. They are available to offer information, guidance, or support on safeguarding matters.

These representatives work closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Office to ensure that our parish remains fully compliant with current standards.
Reporting a Concern
If you have any safeguarding concerns or wish to report an incident, please contact one of our Parish Safeguarding Representatives, the Parish Priest, or the Diocesan Designated Liaison Person. All reports are treated with sensitivity and confidentiality in line with safeguarding policy.
